SUNDAY 3RD NOVEMBER 2024 9AM TO 2PM - NAROOMA LEISURE CENTRE
After many years of planting and growing plants for cutting for the floristry at Meadows Rd flowers Moruya. I’m now retired and make beautiful arrangements grown locally.
The fresh flowers are long lasting and most dried flowers are also local . I also arrange faux flowers and can supply these for dinner parties , small events, or special occasions. . I also hold pressed flower workshops during the year.
Handmade markets are always fun with a lovely growing community .
Looking forward to seeing and talking to lots of people who love flowers at the Artisan Fair
A lifelong conservationist, textilaholic and natural dyer, Wendy refers to herself as a ‘nartist’: a person through whom nature makes art.
She has been practicing processes for extracting natural dyes and for botanical printing on sustainable textiles and fashion for almost a decade.
Using real leaves and flowers to make a contact print, the alchemic process extracts the pigments from within the botanicals and dyes the cloth.
"This process is healing and therapeutic in it’s own right: every piece requires me to take a walk in nature, immerse myself in my environment selecting leaves, flowers and barks from windfall, ethical foraging and grown myself to create a botanical record of that moment in time in luxurious textiles."
Wendy is also passionate about reducing fashion and textile waste and shares knowledge and techniques through 'Fashion Rescue’ workshops.
Wendy encourages others to use this affordable process to extend the life of their faded or stained favourites. Dyeing and printing with local botanicals, you can create your own unique and individual piece of wearable art.
