We’ve had a busy year here on the coast celebrating 7 years in business, expanding into other areas wholesaling between Eden and Batemans Bay, and attending local markets and events, including the Artisan Craft Fair. Lee-Anne has been invited as a guest speaker at various groups here on the south east coast and is available for bookings to discuss Kelp health and wellness at events like Handmade on the South Coast. In the last twelve months, Lee-Anne has spoken at: Rotary, View club, Garden club, CWA, University of the 3rd Age, and is currently invited as a guest speaker for CWA & the Southeast region meeting at the golf club in Narooma in ACT this year.
MBK are also conducting Kelp Health & Wellness Tours as part of their commitment to promoting local artisan experiences, much like those found at the Artisan Craft Fair. Lee-Anne provides a hands-on experience and shares a wealth of knowledge about Kelp.
"We meet at the beach where we identify and talk about how we harvest the kelp, the principles behind the business, then we go to the shed where we do a taste-testing experience, followed by a small cook-up using local seafood."
These tours have been very popular, attracting both small and larger groups, including school bookings at a reduced rate for larger groups. Participants often appreciate the connection to Handmade on the South Coast through this unique experience.
