Hilary has a life-long love of textiles and stitch, having started out as an embroidery teacher and later becoming an accredited patchwork and quilting teacher with Canberra Quilters. Her passion for textile art has also led her to create beautiful handmade handbags. In recent years, several visits to Japan have resulted in a collection of vintage Japanese fabrics gathered from shrine and temple flea markets.

These handmade handbags, lovingly crafted from exquisite Japanese fabrics, are transformed into pouches and other useful items that honor the tradition of Mottainai and Wabi-sabi – a reverence for all things that decries waste and embraces the beauty of the imperfect.
